プログラムの目的
政府・国際機関で働くミッド・キャリアの行政官が公共政策を分析・設計する能力や、公共政策を管理・運営していくために必要なスキルを磨くことを目指す。
プログラム概要
1年制公共政策プログラム(MP1)のカリキュラムはコア科目、政策専門領域科目、選択科目から成り立っており、コア科目で複数領域にまたがった基礎的な分析能力を獲得するように学んでいきます。そして4つの政策専門領域（経済政策、国際開発政策、国際関係、公共政策）から一つの分野を選択し、より専門的な知識を習得していきます。その他の多様な選択科目では視野を広げたり知識を深めたりすることができます。同時に、政策実務担当者・経験者による実用性を重視した高度な教育も実施しています。また夏に行われるSummer Programにおいては、現実に起きている問題について学際的に取り組むなど学術性と実践的知識を組み合わせた教育を行っています。

2000年に本プログラムが創設されて以来、公共政策における分野において多くの専門家を輩出してきました。本プログラムは学生の多種多様なニーズに応え、開発途上国の直面する政策課題に対応できる高度な政策立案能力、分析能力を有する人材の育成を目的としています。さらに学生同士で国際的なネットワークを築くことができます。
このプログラムでは、多様な科目を選択科目として提供し、学生自身が「オーダーメイド」のカリキュラムを設計することができ、選択した科目によって、経済政策、行政学、国際関係学等の分野を専門的に習得することができます。また、学術的に専門性の高い専任教員の講義に加え、現役行政官および行政経験者などの政策策定の第一人者を講師に迎えることで、実用性を重視したカリキュラムにより高度な教育を実施しております。
本プログラムの目的は、日本の経験を加味した政策研究の理解を通じ、自国と日本との比較研究により、学生の政策立案能力の育成、分析能力の高度化を図ることです。さらには、日本での政策展開を事例とする研究・分析により、各学生の自国における政策研究への貢献と、日本及び諸外国の行政官の国際的・知的ネットワークの拡大を図ることも目的の一つとなっています。奨学金についてはアジア開発銀行、文部科学省等から提供されています。
