This is the second phase of “Policy Dialogue on Industrial Development
in Ethiopia”, conducted jointly by the GRIPS Development Forum and the
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the period of January
2012 to October 2015. The phase II project follows the same modality as
the first one, based on its successful results.
More specifically, Japan-Ethiopia industrial policy
dialogue (phase II) has the following features:
1.
To support the implementation
of the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP 2010/11-2014/15) and the
formulation of
the next-five year plan, focusing on industrial
development.
2.
To conduct policy dialogues
with the Ethiopian authorities at the three level: (i) direct dialogues
with Prime Minister,
H. E. Mr. Meles Zenawi, (ii) eight series of High
Level Forum, led by Senior Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister
and
with the participation of Ministers and State Ministers of the relevant
ministries; and (iii) meetings and
discussions with policy makers and
practitioners in charge
In parallel with this industrial policy
dialogue, JICA is implementing the Project on Capacity Building for
Dissemination of Quality and Productivity Improvement (KAIZEN) in
Ethiopia.
