Tenure Track or Tenured Positions in Political Science


The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) is currently seeking candidates for a position in political science to start in Spring - Fall 2010 (exact starting date is negotiable). Candidates with speciality in one of the following research areas are invited to apply:

    - Comparative Local Politics
    - International Political Economy
    -Comparative Politics and Economic Development

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The position is tenure track. The initial contract will be for three years, renewable once for another three years. A tenure decision will be made by the end of the fifth year. Those with sufficient experience in research and teaching can be considered for a tenured associate or full professor position immediately.

Appointees will be required to teach 2-3 courses per year in English. The appointee is also expected to conduct high level research and contribute administratively. Tenure consideration will be based on the appointeefs research record, teaching ability (including supervision of PhD and MA theses), and contributions to administrative and academic services.

We will receive applications from those holding a PhD (or equivalent degree) in Political Science or a related field, and those who can show sufficient evidence of obtaining a PhD in the very near future.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive benefit and retirement package including medical insurance.
