In response to a request by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), GRIPS conducted a half-day training program on February 10, 2010 for Lao government officials, as a part of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Program.
The 54-member delegation, accompanied by JICE staff members visited GRIPS and attended a lecture given by Prof. Horie on "Politics and Administration Systems in Japan". After the lecture, they had a discussion session with students from GRIPS and other institutions.
