Ph.D./Doctoral Programs (3-Year Doctoral Programs)
Public Policy Program
Students in this Program learn to conduct high-level policy research, master the discipline required for performing policy research, produce social science research papers, teach at institutions of higher eduation, and improve their proficiency in foreign languages.
The Program accepts students who have demonstrated their ability by completing our Master of Public Policy Program. Those who have completed master's courses in relevant areas of study at other institutions are also welcomed. Such prospective students may enter the Program after passing some internal examinations, including a qualifying examination, in order to confirm their academic ability.
In addition to lectures and seminars, students also have opportunities to participate in more practical research activities while writing their dissertation. For example, they may get involved in on-going research projects at our Policy Research Center or participate in collaborative research with governmental research organizations that partner with GRIPS.
