Short-term Study Trip in SPPM (24-27 Nov., 2014)
Short-term study trip to SPPM, Tsinghua University (Nov. 24 – Nov. 27, 2014)
GRIPS organized a CAMPUS Asia Short-term Study Trip to SPPM, Tsinghua University. The 4-day event includes auditing three SPPM courses, GRIPS promotion, one-day Beijing field trip, a student interchange party, and a Thanksgiving Party. 11 GRIPS students, accompanied by Professor Kinoshita and GRIPS staff, participated in the trip.
The short-term study trip greatly benefited from the GRIPS CAMPUS Asia alumni network, which has rapidly developed just within the recent years. Mr. CAO Le, who just graduated from the Macroeconomic Policy Program and is now actively working for the State Administration of Foreign Exchange of China, gave an evening guide with Beijing orientation. Ms. Lei Nga Teng, a participant of 2014 summer’s CAMPUS Asia Fortnight at GRIPS, courteously provided her services as the Tsinghua campus tour guide, and Ms. DING Zi, who studied at GRIPS as a CAMPUS Asia exchange student, shared her wonderful GRIPS experience with pride in the GRIPS Promotion session. The reunion of our CAMPUS Asia alumni, who emphasized the values of GRIPS education, showed that profound interchange experience and strong bond nurtured in these years has been consolidated with fruitful harvest.

The audited courses were eye-opening and suggestive for both GRIPS students and faculty. They were taught by instructors from France, China and the US. The courses proceeded with dialogue between instructors and students. Participants from GRIPS also actively joined the discussion and raised insightful questions which activated further debate. The whole study trip was concluded with a Thanksgiving Party hosted by SPPM and international students with warm welcome and vivid communication. During the short-term study trip, students have confessed that their visions have been greatly extended while their minds benefited from the wonderful experience of SPPM and Beijing in the CAMPUS Asia Framework.
