CAMPUS Asia Life @ KDI School Fall Term
Yusuke Kimura (Development Policy Program)
I have only 1 month left to study in Sejong, Korea, where I have been having very productive days. I have taken 3 courses: “Urban Transportation Policy”, “Government Public Relations” and “Korean Language and Culture Ⅰ”. They are all unique courses which I cannot take in GRIPS. They provide not only theories but experiences in Korea and the U.S. , which I find very enlightening with a good contrast to Japan’s. Group works with students with different background often tell me that what’s common in Japan is not necessarily so in other countries.
Sejong is a very new city, being developed from scratch. I often encounter and discover its dynamic changes on a day-to-day basis. I have made many discoveries hanging around the city and finding the growth in the new buildings. It is a really valuable experience to live in a city for 3 months where this large scale urban development is under way.
For the remaining 1 month, I would like to learn more about Korea and absorb as many different kinds of things that will benefit me for my future career. (November 8, 2015)
